The Art of Being Thrown Under the Bus

We are all human. Agreed?

Why is it easier for some to attempt to divert attention from a colossal mistake versus owning up to the fault and making every effort to ensure it never happens again? This is a serious question I am throwing out to you.

My assessment is that the one who does the pushing is so painfully stupid that they do not realize the punishment will become nearly unbearable when the truth comes out. Of course, the requirement for a successful set up would involve adroit precision. Ah. Never mind. I have answered my own question.

However; if you have an opinion, I’d love to hear it.

I'm a big fan of honesty and being straightforward even if it means owning up to a mistake. I've tried lying about it, so I've tried both ways and owning up to something has gotten me farther than I could ever have gotten by denial. I'd like to think that people value those who tell the truth more because it takes guts to be honest. Just MHO.

Robin: I hope they come away with a lesson. The jury is still out...

I'm with Jurgen. I find it easier to deal with problems when I know what's actually going on. When people give me a lot of crap on top of a problem, and they are mine, I don't need them. They have taken a bad situation and made it worse.

I stomp that kind of crap out fast. You kill it the first time and everyone knows that you're easier to deal with if the truth emerges fast. I call that playing it straight. I think they call me Dr. Death behind my back. That's OK with me. We're here to make money, or we're out of business.

This was my prior business. I retired once. Big mistake.

CEO: You and I would work well together. Get your task, do it, no fuss no muss. Too bad not everyone's ethic is this simple. Personally I don'thave the time for games, but I am in the minority. Still, plenty of blog fodder. Always try to fid the silver lining. The rest is handled with martinis.

Amy: As you can see, I had a temporary lapse in judgement.
