You Know You are Getting Old When.....

....you throw your back out while reaching to grab your clothes from the dryer!

Photobucket

Of course, I told everyone at work that I had a hairy sky diving experience. The actual story was just too damn embarrassing.

What great adventure would you have used? You know, because I have to continue to dry my clothes. I would like to be prepared.

I was chasing my shadow and tripped. Of course, I would get a response such as, "What were you smoking?"

Scrimmaging the U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team, and fell after spiking a shot, landing without my feet under me after being hit at the net.

Skiing accident. Almost any will do.

Breaking up a bank holdup. It was the diving, rolling kick that knocked out the crook that got your back.

Snatching a child from the street from the before a truck hit it.

Just your normal, everyday heroine stuff.

my partner threw out his back vacuuming the living room. He told everyone it was a yard work accident.

Don't feel bad, I once used a vacuum handle to poke my eye so badly that I couldn't see for about 30 minutes. Seriously. And the worst part was, I was AT work so no excuses could be made.

My poor ego.

Not to worry, I'm right along side of you. I'm calling an orthopod about my L knee in the morning (you know it must really be paining me to call/go to see somebody) It feels like there are pebbles rolling around inside my L knee and every now and then my knee gets stuck and I fall!! I hate getting old!

I threw out my back this afternoon while tripping over a hole in the ground that was precisely 1.5 inches deep. I'm lame.

Getting old sucks! I missed the bottom stair the other day and spent the rest of the week aching as a result. And don't even get me started on how I bruise. Massive, angry, purple welts that last for weeks. And the hiccups. Oh, I hate getting the hiccups. Talk about painful.

That's what I'd go with, I think. I threw out my back hiccuping. Anyone who dares laugh or doubt you will get their comeuppance when they hit their late 30s/early 40s.

My mom once broke her finger trying to unclog the vacuum cleaner. She claimed a skateboarding accident.

Tripped in high heels and nearly got run over by a tram.

Tell everyone skiing (that's what I did!) or building/lifting stuff in the back garden.

My sister is an MD. While she was working in the ER in NYC, she learned that back problems are the #1 reason for an emergency room visits. Yup.

yes, getting old really sucks. Even more when you´re not used to do exercises and you start to feel tired easily.

Hurting your back truly stinks. There are few injuries that hurt worse, I'm sure. Hope you feel better soon.

heh heh. I can relate. I've hurt my knee just doing a quick turn around. Thank goodness it heals in time.
