Ebonic Hurricanes

If this doesn't just beat all.........

Well, it appears our African American friends have found something else to be pissed about. A black congresswoman (this would be DEMOCRAT Sheila Jackson Lee, of Houston) reportedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all Caucasian-sounding names.

She would prefer some names that reflect African American Culture such as Chamiqua, Woeisha, and Jamal. I can hear it now:

"Wordup, Muthas! Herr-i-cane Chamiqua be headin' fo' Galveston like Leroy on a crotch rocket! Dat bitch be a category fo'! So, turn off dem chitlins, grab yo' chirren, leave yo crib, and head of de nearest FEMA office fo yo FREE shit......."

In celebration of Global Warming, how 'bout naming hurricanes after after favorite Administration officials, like Hurricane Rove. Wouldn't that be a laugh riot?

I am an African American, while I don't agree with the congresswomen on this. I think your last paragraph was out of line and down right offensive!! You are assuming all African Americans speak in that manner, which is far from the truth. Educate yourself a little!!

KOB: Sounds like a plan. Very good idea.

Anon: Sincere apologies if I've offended anyone. My posting this was for humor purposes only.

Hot stuff Wicked. I am now informing BIL of this new post. I'll take him some tissues so that he can wipe the tears that will be rolling down his face after reading this and laughing very hard.

PS I thought it was hilarious!! Tanisha should listen to Howard Stern if she thinks that is offensive. Who dat? Yo Yo, wus up wit dat? Get a life.

I found the last paragraph about as offensive as Eddie Murphy's "white man's walk" or the ever popular white man's overbite dance.

The entire topic, however, I did find offensive. Who, in this day and age, really has that much time on their hands to dream up such assinine "equality" schemes? Good Christ.

By the way, a bigot I am not. My dearest friend on this good earth is a beautiful and intelligent black woman. We two have shared many a telephone conversation discussing current and ancient racial topics. We always end up in stitches over each other's comments.

Great post, WH.
