Baseball Season Trivia

On April 2nd 1931, 17 year old Jackie Mitchell became the first woman to pitch on a men’s professional baseball team, the Chattanooga Baseball Club of the Southern Association. As the starting pitcher in an exhibition game, she fanned two batters in a row – Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig!

I'm glad she never pitched to me. I was never that good of a hitter.

It was always my dream as a kid to be the first female pro baseball player...guess I wouldn't have been the first after all.

Drat.

To be fair, they were trying to look at her ass instead of concentrating on hitting. Pinstripes are so slimming you know. Babe was probably hungover as well.

And now you know the rest of the story.

Any chance we can get her to come pitch for the Tigers? Because we're on pace to go 0-162 right now.

Kris: Thanks Mama!
CEO: You are a legend, that is what I hear.
Sophie: Crackerjacks, pass them to me!
HFS: Oh well, keep reaching for the stars. Just try not to grope!
t2ed: Interesting theory. Perhaps she was just that good.
Dave: LOL. She was good, get over it.
