Dear Mr. Squirrel(s):

Photobucket

Spring is here. I have filled the 2 bird feeders on the deck and you are more than welcome to graze on them until your feeder arrives. Yes, you read that correctly. I have bought you and your furry friends you own feeders.

Nothing makes me happier than sitting on my deck watching the birds and you and your compatriots frolicking and feeding. I draw the line at your destroying the flower boxes and eating my tomatoes and herbs. I beseech you to keep away from the foliage and vegetables.

You have one week to get your act together. Otherwise, I will be dousing the flower boxes and herb and veggie garden with capsaicin powder. With my luck, you’ll use the tomatoes and herbs and make one spicy batch of salsa.

If I have to build chicken coops around everything, I will. Don’t make me count to three!

Hugs and Kisses

Wicked

LOL, we don't have squirrels where we are now, but we did at our last place and boy did they love to get our veggies! Hope they don't steal too many veggies from the garden!

Squirrels are just rats with better PR.

I always thought you were supposed to use a bug zapper as a squirrel feeder.

We have a family of squirrels that feed at the bird feeders. They prefer to eat EVERYTHING and leave nothing for the birds. I have put an ad in the local paper for Daniel Boone to stop by and handle the squirrels. They are bigger than Jake.

LOL They never give up. Lose their nuts though...gotta pity 'em.

What exactly happens when you get to 3?

30ats: I agree so cute. I'd like to see a gardent to completion - we'll see what happens.

Pamela: Me too!

t2ed: I don't want to electrocute them, just keep away from veggies. I'll leave the fun toys to you.

CEO: If Daniel needs another gig, send him to me whe you are done.

Diane: They are entertaining.

Trooper: I hope to not have to find out. Whatever it is, they won't like it. :-)

Have seen a few different versions - Always makes me laugh. Damned squirrels.

I am willing to trade your squirrels for my racoons

Last summer, I was so mad that I threw a football at a squirrel on our bird feeder. Bird feeder smashed to smithereens... squirrel unharmed and smirking as contents fell to the ground.

P.S. -- one night when I have more time I'll be back to tell the story of my dad, the squirrels, and the "Have A Heart" traps my vegan sister gave him. Dare I mention the 50-gallon drum of water?

One of funniest thing I've seen in my backyard was a squirrel dragging it's rear through tall wet grass hoping for some relief. I told them several times that the red stuff in my flowerbeds, pots and garden is hot. They stay away after a few cases of "Oh no, my rear is on fire".

If that works out, let us know! The squirrels around my house have managed to get into about everything.
